A few days ago the World Para Athletics announced RaceRunning to be included as a discipline on their program! – leading to be on the Paralympic event list!
It is a great achievement! Thanks to a great job by CPISRA the President Peter Drysdale heading the discussions with IPC and WPA. RaceRunners will now compete at World, European and other regional championships as well as be integrated in World CUP events. This means the athletes who are meeting the criteria for RaceRunning Classes RR1 and RR2. WPA will facilitate further development with RaceRunning within WPA and hopefully even more nations will join us and increase the numbers and performance level of RaceRunning athletes even further – leading to be included on the Paralympic event list Los Angeles in 2028, if not before.
