On Friday, March 20, a very special milestone was marked as Connie Hansen was inducted into the Parasport Hall of Fame at Parasport Denmark’s annual awards ceremony at Idrættens Hus in Brøndby.
The induction is a recognition of Connie’s many years of outstanding contribution to Danish parasport. Through her dedication and commitment, she has helped create better opportunities for people with disabilities and has made a lasting impact both in sport and on a personal level.
The evening brought together athletes, volunteers, and partners, and with the presence of H.R.H. Princess Benedikte, the event was both festive and ceremonial. While the Para Athletes of the Year were also honoured and the Community Award presented, for Connie Hansen the evening marked a deeply personal recognition of a lifetime of work.
Chairman of Parasport Denmark, John Petersson, highlighted the importance of such contributions:
“Danish parasport encompasses both international top performances and strong communities. At this year’s awards ceremony, we celebrate both elite athletes and the dedicated individuals who help create better sporting opportunities for people with disabilities or special needs.”
Connie Hansen embodies exactly this spirit. Her dedication over the years has not only strengthened the sport but has also inspired and supported countless individuals along the way.
Her induction into the Hall of Fame is therefore not just an honour – it is clear proof of the difference Connie Hansen has made to Danish parasport.
